It is wind season on the prairie, a physical reminder that new things are coming. Winter is finally giving way to something different, and the most powerful expression of that in nature is a tornado. Tornadoes are the ultimate change-makers, capable of altering the landscape in an instant. Their coiled energy symbolizes the power we hold within to manifest ourselves in the world. Storms are said embody all the elements and my rendition of a wind-wrapped tornado contains stone and pigments (earth), burnt Indian grass and cedar (fire and wood), melted snow water (water), iron oxidized to rust (metal), and prairie wind to remind you of the great power you possess to change the world around you.
