This two piece work is an expression of the new moon over the prairie land. New moons are the first lunar phase when the moon is dark to the eye. Folklore says it is a great time for new beginnings. The work features thick, handmade stone texture embedded with grain, acrylic and earth pigments, such as red oxide. The dark moon is a pool of iron oxidized to rust. The perfect reminder to clear away the old and make way for something new. On it’s way to a lovely family in Indiana.
